Therapeutic horseback riding is offered twice a year (an 8-class session in the spring and fall) and open only to Commission clients on a rotating basis. Therapeutic riding imparts physical, emotional and mental rewards. Working with horses develops self-esteem, concentration, patience and confidence. Physically, it relaxes and stimulates unused muscles and joints, builds muscle tone, and improves strength and coordination. Mentally and emotionally, the horse becomes a friend and teacher needed to build interpersonal skills among people.
