Bulky & Brush Pick-Up


Curbside Bulky waste may be placed at the curb up to 48 hours before your scheduled pick up. Residents should place items neatly and piles should be no larger than 4' x 4' x 8'. Dark plastic bags are not acceptable. Hazardous items and construction debris  may not be placed curbside. Small pieces of broken toys, light bulbs, household broken glass, etc. should be placed in your regular garbage. Acceptable items are furniture, appliances, carpeting, bedding, pool covers, and metal. These items must be generated by the homeowner. Bulky waste pickup is not for cleaning out an entire house by a landlord. Please do not park vehicles in front of Bulky waste.  If a pile is tagged as unacceptable due to any of the above, we will not return and the homeowner will be responsible for removing the waste.

Bulky waste may also be brought to the Jackson Township Convenience Center located on Don Connor Blvd. Hours of operation, Friday,Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. The site is closed on holidays. All users of this facility must provide proper Identification to verify Jackson residency. A drivers license or a photo ID showing name and address are acceptable.License plates are recorded by the attendant.

The Bulky waste Convenience Center is  for residential use for disposal of bulky waste.

Bulky waste consists of items such as old furniture, appliances, bedding,carpeting, pool covers and metal items such as bicycles. These items must be generated by a homeowner/renter currently maintaining a residence in Jackson Township. Bulky waste may not be brought in by Landlords who do not reside in the home. Absolutely no Black or dark bags will be accepted. If your load contains any of these bags, the entire load will be rejected until such time as the bags are removed from the load. Onces the bags are removed, the vehicle may return to the site.

No waste materials of any kind that are generated from commercial activities or businesses, including handyman, repair services, retail store, offices, real estate agencies, landlords, contractors, agricultural enterprises, etc., will be permitted to be disposed of at this location.

 Hazardous items are strictly prohibited.

In order to reduce the Township's cost of waste removal, we encourage residents to donate used clothing, shoes, usable toys, etc., to a charitable organization. 

Small pieces of broken toys, light bulbs, household glass, etc. should be placed in your regular garbage.

*NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES OF ANY KIND PERMIITED- THIS INCLUDES COMMERCIAL LICENSE PLATES OR VEHICLES BEARING COMMERCIAL MARKINGS. GVW SHALL NOT EXCEED 8000 POUNDS.

*Please Note: Commercial Vehicles disposing of strictly recycling materials may be permitted to enter the site. This will be done at the attendants disgression. Small Jackson based businesses may dispose of certain recycling and E-Waste. Business recycling includes paper, glass jars and bottles, flattened cardboard, certain plastics. Businesses may not dispose of any garbage, construction debris or bulky items. Businesses that do not conform to these rules will not be permitted use of the convenience center.

 

CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITION DEBRIS

Construction or demolition debris must be accompanied by a voucher. Each home is permitted 2 vouchers per year . Vouchers can be obtained in the Department of Public Works. Each voucher allows for one (1) pick up truck load of debris.(8000 lbs. GVW)

Concrete /cinder blocks no longer require a voucher. However, all concrete must be clean and broken up into small pieces. We will not accept large slabs or pieces containing metal or rebar.

 If a building permit was required for the work that generated the voucher required debris , then you must provide the permit before you can be issued a voucher. Absolutely no contractors or landlords will be permitted to dispose of construction or demolition debris. A pickup truck hauling a trailer will be considered two loads.

All materials disposed of at the Bulky Waste Convenience Center become the immediate property of Jackson Township.No scavenging will be permitted and violators will be prosecuted.

Proof of residency is required. Drivers license bearing the residents address is a proper form of identification. Resident must show their drivers license along with voucher at the transfer station.  

 

ELECTRONICS

Please note that effective March 1, 2018 the Township will begin accepting electronics/ e-waste at our Convenience Center located on Don Connor Blvd.

We will NOT collect electronics during our Bulky collection,

they must be taken directly to our facility.
